Commentary
15 to 20mm of rain through the night saw Scone agents yarded 1252 cattle up 260 head in front of a large buying gallery both live and online. Quality remained high with good supplies of weaners and yearlings along with some exceptional Cows and Bullocks.
Light weaner steers keenly sought and were17c/kg dearer selling from 320c to 486c/kg averaging 432c/kg, medium weights making from 354c to 462c/kg and re-stocking types over 330kg were 21c/kg dearer selling between 330c and 430c/kg. Light weight weaner heifers cheaper by 14c/kg generally trading from 298c to 356c/kg conversely medium weights rose 20c/kg and they sold from 310c to 374c/kg. Trade butcher calves B and C muscle made anywhere from 360c to 414c/kg.
Medium and heavy yearling steers to feed showing positive signs selling from 350c to 456c/kg. Similarly yearling heifers destined the same way sold from 350c to 395c/kg to be upwards of 16c/kg better off. Heavy grown Bullocks topping at 366c/kg to be 19c/kg dearer, heavy grown heifers sold in a similar fashion making from 350c to 358c/kg.
Around 240 cows penned, 2 scores lifting 11c/kg making from 248c to 280c/kg with re-stockers very active whilst the heavy prime 3 and 4 scores rose 10c to 16c/kg selling from 282c to 330c/kg.
