Commentary
There was a larger yarding of 124 cattle at Powranna on Tuesday with a mixed quality selection including half a row of store cattle.
The few yearling cattle sold at much dearer rates with special restocking order from Angus steers with most selling from 402c to 428c while butchers paid 380c to 428c.
Grown steers and bullocks made 290c to 402c with local butchers strong at the top end.
There was a mixed yarding of 50 cows and the heavy beef pens made 284c to 302c, leaner 220c to 260c and very lean 90c to 220c.
Heavy bulls made 226c to 250c/kg liveweight.
