Commentary
There was some outstanding runs of B muscled yearlings to process reaching 508c/kg, along with some good lines of feeder steers and heifers included in the 1539 offered, a decrease of 700 head. Young cattle returning to the paddock were well supplied, and there were 155 cows. All the usual buyers were operating, selling to a dearer market.
Prime vealers topped at 472c/kg. Yearlings to process attracted strong competition, selling from 370c to 508c/kg. Feeder steers lifted 12c, ranging from 370c to 454c and heifers to feed were also dearer, to average 366c/kg. Well- bred weaner steers were significantly dearer, making from 260c to 484c, and the heifer portion, considerably dearer, making from 215c to 388c/kg.
Heavy cattle were price unchanged, with the steers ranging from 290c to 400c and the heifers ranged from 265c to 385c/kg. 2 and 3 score cows were up to 30c dearer, selling from 180c to 310c and heavy prime cows lifted 6c, topping at 338c to average 324c/kg. Heavy bulls to process ranged from 232c to 330c/kg.
