Total Yarding: 2,145

Commentary

Numbers jumped by 600 for a total yarding of 2145 fair to good quality cattle. There were some good runs of well finished yearlings to suit the trade and there was an increased number of cattle to suit the feedlot buyers. There were some good lines of heavy grown cattle and there were 240 cows. The buyers were not as active, resulting in mostly cheaper price trends.

Prime vealers topped at 570c and trade yearlings ranged from 450c to 562c/kg.Feeder steers were a few cents easier, selling from 414c to 516c and heifers to feed were also cheaper averaging 453c/kg. Young cattle returning to the paddock did not attract the competition of previous sales, with the well-bred steers making from 346c to 600c and the heifers made from 320c to 474c/kg.

Heavy grown steers were price unchanged reaching 462c and grown heifers topped at 452c to average 435c/kg. 2 and 3 score cows were firm, selling from 280c to 392c and heavy prime cows slipped 10c, topping at 415c, to average 401c/kg. Heavy bulls to process sold from 338c to 394c/kg.
