Lamb numbers dropped and the quality remains mixed. There were plenty of light and secondary lambs. The trade run had a mixed selection of lambs and it wasn’t until the heavy 4 score lambs that the quality was more consistent in each pen. Heavy Dorpers were better supplied and with only a limited supply of heavy crossbreds sold to better rates. The market sold to stronger trends over all categories.

The 2 score processing lambs to 18kg cwt were $10 dearer selling from $50to $105/head. The trade weight lambs gained $5 to $10 with the medium and heavy weights selling from $118 to $167/head to averaged 640c to 660c/kg. Heavy lambs to 26kg sold from $171 to $180/head averaging between 680c and 710c/kg. Lambs to 30kg were the big movers jumping upto $15/head selling from $175 to $220 and extra heavies reached $229/head. The best of the hoggets reached $148/head.

Mutton numbers eased and the quality was mixed. Prices lifted $5 to $10/head. Medium weight ewes sold from $40 to $77 and heavy crossbred ewes $50 to $98/head. the heavy Dorpers reached $105 and Merino with a long skin $112/head. Most averaged 240c to 265c/kg cwt.
