Commentary
Numbers dropped by 2770 for a yarding of 4268 mixed quality lambs. Most of the yarding consisted of store lambs and heavy trade weights along with a few good pens of heavyweights mixed throughout. Not all the regular buyers were present and the market sold to a cheaper trend.
Lightweight lambs to 18kg slipped $15 selling from $40 to $106/head. Light and medium weight trade weights were also down $15 while the heavier trades remained closer to firm. 20kg to 24Kg lambs sold from $122 to $168/head. Heavyweight lambs over 24Kg were $10 cheaper, $158 to $213/head. Hoggets remained firm selling to $130/head.
There was 1941 mixed quality mutton yarded were prices fell $15 to $20. Merino ewes sold from $30 to $90, crossbred ewes, $25 to $90/head. Merino wethers reached $88 and crossbred $80/head. Rams sold to $10/head.
