Commentary
A large increase in supply to 1,996 lambs and 1,083 grown sheep at Warwick resulted in all processors being able to secure supply. Restockers very active on young lambs which resulted dearer trends. Trade weight and heavy lambs to processors also sold to dearer trends of $7 to $16/head however the hoggets and ewes to processors sold to easier trends with wethers to processors improving by $26/head.
Young lambs in the 12-16kg range to restockers sold from $143 to $166head. Young lambs in the 16-18kg range to restockers sold from $154 to $194/head. Young lambs over 18kg to the butcher trade sold from $214 to $239/head. Older lambs in the 20-22kg range to the wholesale meat trade sold from $222 to $278/head. Lambs in the 22-26kg range to processors sold from $204 to $316/head. Heavy lambs to processors sold from $326 to $350/head.
Hoggets to processors sold from $245 to $281/head. Light weight merino ewes to restockers sold from $92 to $140 with heavy ewes to processors at $170 to $270/head. Merino wethers to restockers sold from $130 to $144/head. Heavy wethers to processors sold from $180 to $280/head. Ram lambs to processors sold from $200 to $250/head. Meat rams sold from $176 to $206/head. Ewes and lambs sold to $310/unit.
